As an active member of NPA Worldwide (website:www.npaworldwide.com), People Search Indonesia participated at annual Asia conference, held at Singapore from 4-5 November 2011. Our firm is represented by our CEO and our representation is the only one from Indonesia. This conference involved some independent executive search companies from Asia regions, plus Australia and New Zealand. We discussed about opportunities on cross border recruitment, where each firm presented about talent market in their country, and specifically about their executive search practice and services. We also listened valuable inputs from some invited clients within this Asia region, understanding their needs about talents, expectation from their recruiter, particularly search firm. Furthermore, we discussed the impact of social media in recruitment practice around the world. We do believe that international recruitment is today "reality" and will be massively happening in the near future. Asia will be center of gravity in economic world, as Europe and US are currently struggling to recover from their government budget and recessions problems. China and India are the biggest, but please not to forget Indonesia, Saudi, South Korea as well as Turkey which are part of G20, the oil rich countries in middle east, Singapore financial hub, progressive Malaysia, and other emerging countries such as Vietnam. As general situation, emerging markets always short of talents to fulfill their business needs. It's challenge for top companies and their executive search firms to attract the best talents. Some places make easy by letting foreigners, especially people from Europe, US who currently might need jobs, but some other places, due to internal politic or policy will limit foreigners coming until free trade market is applied.
